Hi everyone!! I hope you’re all having a fantastic week! I’ve been getting a lot of requests for furniture, rugs and lighting lately. Because shopping for these items can be so time-consuming, I thought it would be helpful to compile the “best of the best” coastal furniture, rugs and lighting across all budgets, categories and retailers into one central location. Think of it as a one-stop resource for all of your needs – so make sure to bookmark it and Pin it (there’s a Pinterest option at the bottom) as it will be a guide that I update regularly as I come across new pieces that I love! I feel strongly about the importance of having a home that evokes a sense of calm and relaxation, and I want that for all of my readers. That’s why you’ll see pieces for all budget levels here in this post – it’s truly possible to get that coastal home budget without spending every dollar of your paycheck!
There is something to be said though about designer pieces that come with a higher price tag – they are typically made with higher quality materials (solid wood vs. MDF) and are constructed differently (dovetail joints vs. joints held together with staples), which I know is important to some of you. I personally love to mix higher end and budget-friendly pieces to achieve the look I want – because let’s face it, furniture is expensive and sticking to a budget is necessary! Here in my living room, I have pieces from Serena & Lily (rug & end table), Pottery Barn (coffee table), Crate & Barrel (sofa), Wayfair (spindle chairs), and Target (side table) all mixed together!
Also, when you’re shopping for furniture, don’t be afraid to think creatively and make modifications to a piece in order to achieve the look that you’re after, while still staying within your budget. Sometimes something as simple as swapping the hardware on a piece can give it a much higher-end look. Painting and/or adding grasscloth wallpaper can also instantly transform furniture into a coastal-inspired piece, like I did here with my hall tree makeover and my media console makeover.

For all of you looking for dining chairs (and there’s a lot of you!), know that I am ALWAYS keeping an eye out for beautiful, but affordable dining room chairs. The reality is that many are so stinking expensive (same with stools) – and I feel your pain! I’m actually looking for affordable dining room chairs myself and on occasion I find some great ones at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. When I do, I immediately post these on Instagram, Facebook and LIKEtoKNOW.it but they typically sell out at lightning speed given the more affordable prices. One thing I would recommend is turning on notifications for my Instagram and Facebook posts so that you get alerted when I post these deals.
Bar & Counter Stools
I want to echo my note above about bar and counter stools being SO expensive! Know that I am always keeping an eye out for inexpensive but quality options – and they do exist. However, I only recommend options where I am confident in the construction and durability, and often my confidence level in very low-priced stools is not the highest. When I do come across additional beautiful & durable options at a great price point, I will certainly continue to add them to this guide!
